ROHAN AND THE DRAGON

Once upon a time, there lived a young man named Rohan who was only four feet tall. Other young men and women always made fun of how short he was. Even though he was short, this young man was kind and smart. He never got offended or mad when people made fun of his short body.
One day, a terrible dragon came to the kingdom and burned every thing on his path. Many knights tried to kill this monster but they always failed. The dragon was too strong for any kind of weapon.
The king declared he would reward whoever could kill the dragon. If the slayer was a man, he could marry the princess. If the slayer was a woman, the king would adopt her as his own daughter. Many poeple came from all over the world trying to kill the dragon but none succeeded.
Rohan was interested in joining the competition but he knew he would not be able to compete with all the strong knights. He decided to learn everything he possibly could about the dragon. He spent many days and night in the kingdom library, studying everything in the archives about dragons. He discovered that dragons slept after their late- night adventures, Rohan suddenly had a plan.
Rohan went to see the king and told him about his plan. Everybody laughed at him and said “ You’ll never make it! You won’t succeed! Look at you. You are too small.” Nobody believed in him except the princess who had faith in him. Rohan then continued doing what he had planned. He looked for the dragon’s hiding place for days. When he found it, he waited until the day went dark and he sneaked into the dragon’s cave. Since he was asleep, the dragon could not see him when he entered the cave. Besides, Rohan was so small that he could walk without the dragon hearing his footsteps.
Rohan waited until the dragon fell into a deep sleep. The dragon was big and scary. Rohan was scared thinking about how easily the dragon could kill him with his fire or by biting him to death. Rohan tried to focus on his mission and be strong. He knew he only had one chance to kill the dragon. Rohan made sure the dragon had fallen asleep completely and he walked toward the dragon quietly. He had to find the dragon’s heart and stab it. He had to do it perfectly because if he miss the dragon’s heart, the dragon would kill him at once. Slowly but surely, Rohan lifted his sword and stabbed the dragon’s heart with all the strength he had. The dragon died instantly.
Rohan returned to the kingdom and told the king good news. Together with his knights, the king went to the dragon’s hiding place and they found him dead. People all over the kingdom were so happy and relieved. The knights congratulated him and apologized for underestimating him. Rohan married the princess and they lived happily ever after.
